About Talita

I've been dancing my heart out since 2003. I kicked off my journey in Goiania, Brazil, where I dived into a world of Latin rhythms like Salsa, Samba, Forro, Bolero, Tango, Soltinho, and Zouk. Over the next five years, I soaked up knowledge from six different teacher training courses, all under the expert eye of the amazing Jaime Aroxa in Rio. I also hit up dance congresses around the globe to keep my skills sharp.

In 2008, I co-founded Movimento Companhia de Dança in Brazil with two awesome partners. Our little dance school quickly grew into the largest in the state, boasting 450 students and eight talented teachers.

A year later, I got the exciting chance to teach in Spain. My two years in Europe were a blast! I added Bachata and Kizomba to my dance toolkit and even made a splash in Salamanca with some pretty huge dance classes. I had the honor of teaching at the Bachata Congress in Sevilla and the Sensual Congress in Madrid in 2009.

By 2015, I found myself in New Zealand, starting fresh with Zoukart in Auckland. I showcased some of my choreography at congresses in Australia and New Zealand and continued to spread the dance love.

In 2018, I moved to Tauranga and helped grow a fantastic dance community there working with The Dance Factory. I also took my passion to New Plymouth and Hawera, working to boost the local dance scene with small workshops.

Fast forward to 2019, and I’m now based in Christchurch, New Zealand. After teaching with Leo & Becky at Brazilian Beatz, sharing my knowledge, and still learning new things every day, now I’m on my own, driven by the joy of sharing my passion for dance across New Zealand.
